Veronica Bello
Selected Samples 2019-Present
Across knitting, weaving, Jacquard weaving, embroidery, and off-loom construction, Bello's sample practice is where material thinking begins. These works are not preparatory in the traditional sense. They are a ongoing record of questions asked through fiber: about structure and instability, about what a textile can hold and what it refuses to. Each technique carries its own logic, its own relationship to time and repetition, and Bello moves between them as a way of staying close to the hand, to the slowness that textile demands before it becomes image or installation.
The samples collected here span 2019 to the present, tracing a practice that has consistently returned to the same tensions that run through her larger bodies of work: transparency and opacity, surface and depth, the made thing and the thing coming undone.
